NARTO Suspends Planned Nationwide Strike
THE planned nationwide strike by the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners – NARTO, has been suspended.
The association had issued a strike notice over economic conditions affecting tanker drivers.
NARTO reversed the decision after members of the association met with the Federal Government and stakeholders on Monday.
The association’s members had threatened a nationwide shutdown, starting on Monday due to the exorbitant cost of automotive gas oil (diesel), which is essential for fueling their trucks in transporting petroleum products across Nigeria.
The price of diesel hit N1,226.69 per litre last week.
