THE Nigerian Bar Association – NBA, will continue to discipline erring members in the pursuit of their duties, the warning came from the President of the Association, Yakubu Maikyau.
The NBA president gave the warning at a news conference organised to mark the 2023 annual general conference themed ‘Getting It Right, Charting the Course for Nigeria’s Nation-building.’
Maikyau pointed out that, once evidence of misconduct is provided against any erring lawyer, sanctions will follow.
The President reminded the lawyers of ethics of the law profession.
He also emphasized that justice is important if Nigeria is to develop and achieve freedom and fairness in the true sense of it.
His note of caution comes after massive spotlight has been cast on one of their own, a law graduate who goes by the name ‘Ifunaya Baddest Lawyer.’
