Obi, Present as Presidential Election Tribunal Begins Pre-Hearing
PETER Obi was present at the pre-hearing of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Monday.
Atiku Abubakar, who was the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, and Obi of the Labour Party – LP, approached the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to annul Bola Tinubu’s victory after the All Progressives Congress – APC, candidate was declared winner of the February 25 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC.
According to the result announced by INEC, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes, Atiku had 6,984,520 votes, while Obi recorded 6,101,533 votes.
Also present in court was the governor of Plateau State, Mr Simon Lalong, who was also present to observe the proceedings of the day.
The tribunal will be hearing petitions challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.
