Obi Goes to Court Over Presidential Election Result

LABOUR PARTY – LP candidate, Peter Obi gone to court to seek redress over the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.

Labour Party spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko told journalists on Tuesday, that Obi has filed a petition at the Supreme Court, challenging the election that saw Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress -APC emerge as President-elect.

“We are challenging the qualifications of the candidate that was declared the winner. We are also challenging the processes that led to his declaration as the winner, among others,” Tanko said.

It would be recalled that Obi, during a press conference on March 2, vowed to challenge what he referred to as ‘this rascality’’ for the future of Nigeria.

“This is not the end but the beginning of the journey for the birth of a new Nigeria,” the former Anambra State Governor said then.
