Shaibu was impeached by the state house of assembly on Monday, April 8, after a seven-man committee found him guilty of disclosure of government secrets.
Omobayo Godwins was sworn in around 1:40 pm on the same day by the Chief Judge of Edo State Justice Daniel Okungbowa at the Edo State Government House in Benin City.
After taking the oath of office, the 37-year-old was greeted by a rousing crowd in one of the halls at the Government House.
The event was attended by a crowd of supporters, well-wishers, and some top shots in Edo State.
