ONE person is reported to have died after a rooftop construction in an uncompleted building in Taraba state caved in.
The incident happened on Friday within the grounds of the Taraba State University in Jalingo.
AfriqueCan gathered that several others were left injured in the collapse.
According to some unidentified witnesses, the supporting wood in which the iron roof rested on could not could it as the crane came crashing down.
Speaking on the incident, the Information Officer of the University, Sanusi Sa’ad, explained that the school management was not in charge of the building project.
Sa’ad disclosed that the project is being carried out by an independent contractor.
As at time of drafting this report, the Police in Taraba state were yet to make any official statement on the incident.
The contractor of the said building remained unreachable as well.
