VICTOR Osimhen scored twice as the Super Eagles defeated Sierra Leone 3-2 to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations – AFCON, with one game to spare.
The Napoli striker opened the scoring for the Super Eagles in the 19th minute before completing his brace in the 32nd.
Augustus Kargbo levelled the scores for the Leone Stars in the 84th minute before Kelechi Iheanacho scored Nigeria’s third goal at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia, on Sunday.
Nigeria now top the group with 12 points from five games, followed by Guinea-Bissau with 10 points.
