THE Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has gunned down 10 Bandits in Bauchi state and rescued 39 victims in a rescue operation on Friday.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command, Ahmed Wakili, on Saturday.
He explained that the operation tagged ‘Operation Sharan Daji’ involved joint security operatives.
The successful mission saw the operatives storm the Yankari Forest, killing the bandits and freeing the victims.
Wakali explained that initial investigation showed that about 24 kidnappers invaded the Gaji community on Thursday.
The Kidnappers grabbed a number of businessmen on their way back from the Mararaban Liman Katagum Market and moved them to a location known as the Red Mountain in Yankari Forest.
AfriqueCan learnt that, before the successful rescue operation on Friday, the Kidnappers had already demanded a ransom of N50million from each victim.
