Popular Ondo Businessman, Adelabu Kills Wife, Commits Suicide

An Akure-based socialite Sesan Adelabu has committed suicide after reportedly killing his wife, Bolu, in the Ondo state capital.

Adelabu, popularly known as Emirate, committed suicide by drinking an insect-killing substance, after butchering his wife to death in their Alagbaka home over alleged adultery.

The wife’s lifeless body was left on her matrimonial bed while the remains of her husband was found inside his toilet after.

Adelabu, according to sources, has a chain of business investments including Petrol stations in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abayomi Oladipo, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, will take over the case.

“On the 9th of February, 2024, a distress call was received by the police of A’ Division Akure by men of the Special Protection Unit.

“The officer attached to the deceased in his house in the Alagbaka area of Akure received a call from the deceased child around 6 p.m. asking after his father.

“When he was not picking up his calls, the policeman, while trying to inform his principal, discovered him face down and lifeless in the toilet, while his wife’s body was found on the bed with multiple cuts suspected to be machete cuts on her head and face.

“An empty container of snipers was also found at the scene,” she said.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased couple have been deposited at the mortuary.
