Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Adjourns Sitting to Tuesday
THE presidential election petition tribunal has adjourned its sitting to Wednesday, May 10.
It also adjourned for the continuation of pre-hearing proceedings till Wednesday for the petition of the Labour Party – LP, and Peter Obi and that of the Action Peoples Party – APP.
The tribunal commenced proceedings in Abuja, on Monday to look into matters brought before it challenging the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, declared Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress – APC, saying the former Lagos State Governor polled 8,794,726 votes.
According to INEC, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, came second with 6,984,520 votes while Peter Obi of the Labour Party – LP, was third with 6,101,533 votes.
Atiku and Obi approached the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to annul Tinubu’s victory after rejecting the result as announced by the INEC.
