Scores Killed as Separatists Attack Malian Soldiers

MALI Separatists have announced the killing of scores of Malian Soldiers in the centre of Mali.

The Separatists alleged this on Saturday in a statement released by the Permanent Strategic Framework which is dominated by the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA), an alliance of predominantly Tuareg separatist groups.

According to the separatists, about 98 Malian Soldiers died when it hit the army.

The Separatists also claimed to have taken five soldiers as prisoners leaving dozens of Malian soldiers wounded.

According to the rebels, they, however, lost 7 of their own men in the attacks.

AfriqueCan cannot ascertain how true the claims of the rebels are.

Reacting to the claims, the Malian Army revealed that there was an attack on one of its camps in Dioura in the Mopti region on Thursday, but stopped short of giving further details on the nature of the attack and possible casualties.
