SUSPENDED Nigeria lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is not allowed to resume office, despite completing her six-month term. The country’s Senate has said.

Although in a letter by the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the Senate acknowledged Akpoti-Uduaghan’s notification of her intended return, the lawmakers however, said that Natasha’s suspension remains in force pending the outcome of a Court of Appeal case instituted against the Senate by her.

“The matter remains sub judice, and until the judicial process is concluded, no administrative action can be taken to facilitate your resumption,” part of the letter dated September 4, 2025, read.

According to the letter, the Senate would only review the suspension of the Senator representing Kogi Central, after the court’s pronouncement.

Natasha was to return  on September 4, the date she claimed marked the end of her suspension.
