OLA Olukoyede has been confirmed as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC. He was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday.
Muhammad Hammajoda was similarly confirmed as the Secretary of the anti-graft agency.
Their confirmation followed their screening by the upper chamber earlier the same day – about a week after they were appointed by President Bola Tinubu.
The red chamber also confirmed the appointment of Halima Shehu as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency – NSIPA.
President Tinubu on June 14, 2023, suspended the immediate past boss of the commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa indefinitely “to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office”.
Bawa is facing allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.
