AGRIEVED residents and traders are on the streets of Enugu, Coal City capital, protesting against the sealing of businesses by the State Government.
It will be recalled that the State Government sealed many businesses, including shops at the Ogbete Main Market after their owners failed to open on Monday.
On assumption of office, Governor Peter Mbah had placed a ban on the regular Monday sit-at-home imposed by a faction of IPOB.
Many residents however, are yet to comply with the directive out of fear of possible attack by hoodlums.
But on Monday, government officials moved from place to place sealing business outfits. The government has also given conditions the affected traders must meet before their shops would be reopened.
The development has now sparked protests by Ogbete Market traders.
Protesters are seen marching within the metropolis, chanting angry songs as they expressed their displeasure over the state government’s decision to seal their businesses.
