The Zamfara State Election Petition Tribunal has just upheld the victory of Dauda Lawal as the Governor of the state during the last election.
The Tribunal sitting in Sokoto reeled its judgment on Monday.
Recall that Dauda Lawal of the People’s Democratic Party defeated the incumbent Gov. Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 Governorship election.
Of the state’s 14 local governments, Lawal won 10 of them to becoming Governor.
Matawalle subsequently approached the Tribunal, petitioning the victory of Lawal.
The Tribunal has, however, stood with the election result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission in affirming Dauda Lawal as Governor of Zamfara State.
