GOVERNOR Nysome Wike has expressed concern over the success of the ongoing general elections after one the most important equipment provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, failed to work properly on Saturday.
The machine deployed by the INEC to Wike’s unit could not accredit the Rivers State Governor and his wife.
Wike and his wife had arrived at his polling unit 7 in Ward 9 in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area at about 10:30 am, could not hide his feelings as he told journalists during a chat that he was ‘disappointed.’
After over 20 minutes of unsuccessful tries, a female electoral official appealed to the Governor and his wife to check back.
Apparently unsatisfied, the governor said that the failure of the machine could mar the election.
