Unilag Students Vow to Continue To Protest Over School Fees Increase
STUDENTS of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) continued their protests on Wednesday over the recent increment to their school fees.
The school had, this year, increased the school fees of the students significantly higher.
The students have now insisted that they will not back down from their protests until the school reverts to the original school fees.
The school environs and beyond were occupied by the protesting students as they made their voices heard.
The presence of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were also notable around the protest areas in a bid to ensure calm and sanity.
The protests, AfriqueCan gathered, have led to increased traffic congestion in and around the Akoka area of Yaba, with motorists, sometimes, forced to seek alternate routes.
