Popular comedian Ayo Makun has called out his senior colleague Julius Agwu for being economical with the truth and he has threatened to seek redress in court for slanderous statement .
Ay made this known while reacting to Julius accusation on a radio program .
Julius Agwu claimed that Ay had taken his show date on Easter Sunday and dropped the phone on him when he tried inquire.
Ay in a post he made on his Instagram to clarify this said;
“the truth remains the only ultimate power to downplay all the lies in a place where the INTERNET NEVER FORGETS.
Dear senior colleague Julius Agwu, my question is, how is it even possible to lay claims to the fact that i took over your Easter Sunday date with the following verifiable facts.”
The famous comedian who has been in a controversial feud with another comedian Basket mouth over an old squabble came with receipts that Julius Agu lied about the dates.
According to him, ” Laff 4 Christ Sake stopped in 2009 and only came back on October 23rd, 2011. The same year I did AY Live on Workers Day May 1st (which obviously was not on Easter Sunday).
He further on explained that there was evidence to show that they both had a show on the same date when Julius Agu was on his show; “Confirms Julius D Genius Agwu performing at AY Live on Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2013. ( which I believed would have been an issue if I truly ever cut a call on senior colleague who holds claim the same date).
More so, a video showed Julius Agu in a recent event this year telling an audience that he fell ill right after Ay cut the call on him.
Ayo makun warned sternly his senior colleague that “Fast forward to 2023, here we are again with this libelous video that will not be tolerated. Should this continue without any proof to your claims of me bewitching you, i will be filing a slanderous lawsuit against you for consistently trying to damage my reputation.”
He added that, “Finally, Projecting Peace across boards doesn’t make me a weakling. Neither am I seeking any form of unnecessary friendship that is laced with negativity.”
Ayo Makun and Julius Agu were family friends before and there are claims that Ay stood with him during his illness.
