FIVE disgruntled Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, governors known as the G5 met with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.
Members of the G5, also known as the Integrity Group include; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as well as former Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).
According to governor Makinde, the visit was to apprise President Tinubu of the latest happenings and the group’s stance for fairness, equity and justice in the country.
The Oyo State said that nation building required constant evaluation, adding that the G5 will keep meeting with the President on the way forward for the country.
The G5 formed an alliance after the PDP’s presidential primary in May 2022 to demand that the then PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu stepped down for a southern replacement as a precondition to support the presidential ambition of the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 poll.
